Information supplied that may be of some help.

I notice that you are using info from the family search site, which has been submitted. Remember, information is only as good as the informant has - submitted information should be used with caution. If the record has been extracted from parish records it is more reliable, but should also be checked where possible as more information may be available - not always easy I know.

There is another submitted entry for Elizabeth Sewell which gives her year of birth as c1798 and says she married William Day. So using this info, this is on the 1851 census

living in New Street, Chelmsford
William Day, 57, general labourer, born Chelmsford
Elizabeth, 55, wife, born Great Baddow
Jane, 4, daughter, born Chelmsford

I'm sure there must be children born earlier, but I can't see William and Elizabeth in Chelmsford on the 1841.

1861 - King Street, Chelmsford
William Day, 67, brickmaker's labourer
Elizabeth 64

1871 - King Street still
William Day, 76, brewer's labourer
Elizabeth A, 73
John H Nightingale, 14, boarder, born Middlesex

1881 - lodging at 5 The Vineyards, Duke Street, Chelmsford
Elizabeth Day, 84, widow, formerly nurse, born Great Baddow

Possible death registration for Elizabeth
apr-jun 1889, Chelmsford district, vol 4a p 172
