Swindale Sewells

I have been researching for a friend John Sewell who lives in Japan. His grandfather was William Sewell of Ferryhill who died in a mining accident. It took a lot of time and effort but I have traced him back via his father John (1853) of Tebay, his grandfather John (1826) of Colby to the John(1789) mentioned in the 2003 article 'The Sewells of Swindale' by Eric Sewell which I have found fascinating and invaluable. Thank you.

Our friend will be visiting us soon and although the religious side to his family may come as a suprise the down to earth nature of these 'Priests Sewell' sounds like a family trait!

If anyone out there has anything which may be of interest to him or pointers that could help me find out more I should be grateful.
