Sauls of Byfield and possibly Leamington

Hi all

My first venture onto the Saul forum, so please be kind!

On my paternal side (Lock) there are some Sauls from Byfield. With thanks to John Slaughter he has clarified that my 4 x Grt Grandmother Mary Saul, is the sister of the infamous James Saul who murdered his lover.

Mary married Thomas Lawrence also from Byfield and their son's daughter married into a Bishops Tachbrook family by the name of Powell. Now Tachbrook is on the outskirts of Leamington Spa which is my home town. A further generation down the Powells look as if they might have settled in Leamington where a daughter married a Lock.

I am aware that as yet there is no connection between the Byfield Sauls and the Leamington Sauls, but I am wondering if there is a remote possibility that some of the Sauls moved over with the Lawrence's.

Quite excited that this connection however remote could be the one that makes the link.

I think that this demands some further investigation!
