Default Seawell and immigration to America

Greetings all! Happy New Year! I can trace my family back to Col. Benjamin Seawell, Sr. who was born in Brunswick County, Virginia, USA in 1701. Beyond that date the data is incomplete. I do believe however my family is related somehow to Henry Seawell, Sr. (1600's) of which Seawell's Point in the areas of Gloucester, Yorktown, VA is named. My goal is to discover who my family is in Great Britain and who immigrated to America. Though there may have been Seawell's that immigrated in the 18th and 19th centuries, I believe regarding my line in Virginia, it would have occured most likely in the 15 or 1600's.

The questions I have are the following:

    * What is known about the Seawells in VA? Do you know how they got there?

    * Of what relation are the Seawells in Massachusetts to the Seawells in VA.

    * Also, any information on the varioius elements of the family crest ie. the "three bees", would be greatly appreciated.

    My e-mail address is jrseawell@verizon.net.

Henry Sewall b. 1624 in Warwickshire, England. He became Secretary of Maryland, and I believe some of his descendants migrated to Virginia and other points south. He was a cousin to the New England Sewalls.

We have so far not found any connection between the "Sewall's Point Sewall" and either the New England bunch or the Maryland mob.
