Mary Ann Sole, married to Frederick John Smith, a mill sawyer, living at 2 Felix Street, Bethnal Green at the time of her son Henry's birth on 25th December 1850 (Henry was my great grandfather). In the 1851 Census the street is named as Lower Felix Street. Felix Street was sited between the east end of Hackney Road and Old Bethnal Green Road. It was continued as Lower Felix Street for a short distance. The area has been redeveloped as the Minerva Estate, at the corner of Hackney Road and Cambridge Heath Road. The Census states that Mary was born in Shoreditch, Middlesex and that she was 27 years old. This indicates she was born circa 1824. According to the Sole Web Index (p124) she married Frederick in 1846 at Bethnal Green.

I'd be very interested indeed to hear from anyone who might have details of a wider family for Mary, who was my great great grandmother.
