    Default Sewells of Cumberland.

Hi, I've been tracing my relatives on my father's side, and they seem to be located around Carlisle, Longtown and Whitehaven.
I have a Henry Sewell (my grandfather,b. 1892) and Richard (his father, b.1862). Richard married Sarah Hodgson (b.1860) in 1883. This is just the bare bones, and I'm wondering if there is someone out there with the info to put some flesh on them? There is a Richard Sewell listed as a sadler in Carlisle around 1910; would this be a likely candidate? Any help, however small would be much appreciated. I'm new at this, so be kind!

Hi, I have a Thomas Henry Sewell born 1845 in Whitechapel, I have not found much else so they may not be related at all.

Thanks for replying Shirley. Do you mean Whitechapel (as in London) or Whitehaven? If it's Whitehaven, this looks promising, many thanks!
